The new version of The Amity Affliction’s 2014 breakthrough album Let the Ocean Take Me has been released.
Released on 9 June, 2014, the band’s fourth album was their second to debut at #1 on the ARIA chart and was certified gold in Australia after only two weeks. Let the Ocean Take Me was The Amity Affliction’s first US success, reaching 31 on the Billboard chart.
The decision to fully re-record the album was made, in part, out of a desire to reclaim it as their own following a bitter split from Roadrunner Records, which frontman Joel Birch has been particularly vocal about: “you don’t need to believe the bullshit larger labels will feed you, and you can maintain control over your masters and own your own songs”.
Let the Ocean Take Me (Redux) is out now on Pure Noise. The Amity Affliction is touring the albun in full in November with Ice Nine Kills, We Came as Romans and Heavensgate
