Get Ready for Metal to the Max

Posted on 16 March 2024

Since the unheralded disappearance of Blacken Festival, the amount of multi-day metal fests in the Outback has been zero. All that has now changed.

After teasing this for some time, the people at Lead Heavy Promotions have now unveiled the full line-up for their inaugural Metal for the Max Festival on the October long weekend.

Witchgrinder and Darker Half headline a staunch collection of acts from around Australia at the far western NSW outpost of Silverton in the replica stronghold from Mad Max 2! Featuring 28 bands across two days, the festival is set down for 5 – 6 October. Tickets start at $127.50 for three full days of camping and two huge days of metal, with full details here.

The full line-up is: Witchgrinder, Darker Half, Hidden Intent, Flaming Wrekage, Firestorm, Demon Head, Evocatus, The Plague, Headbore, Hell Machine, Sundowner, Antonamasia, Those Left Behind, Apocalyptic Annihilation, Sons of Erebus, Reaver, Headstone Villains, Suffer the Evenue, Armoured Earth, Firing Squad, Maxamm, Skyhammer, Liberated, Denazen, PTL, Dark Orion, Ecdysis and Pit Vipers.
